ABOUT TRACey

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, which means I use several different therapeutic approaches within my practice and this enables me to be flexible and to tailor each clients sessions specifically for them. I have many years experience working in the educational sector with young people and families coping with trauma and its effects. I have also worked with two local charities.

I am passionate about the practical benefits of talking therapy to help clients achieve understanding, self-compassion and the possibility of looking forward with purpose. All of this will be  provided in a safe, supportive and confidential space. I am trained to listen and not to judge.

“I will always meet you with compassion, empathy and acceptance.”

Working as an Integrative Counsellor, I will help support you through the emotional challenges that you face. We will work together to explore ways to understand what is happening for you and how to create positive changes.

I put clients at the heart of our sessions, using person centred therapy as the core of my practice.

YOU WILL SET THE PACE AND THE AGENDA

I WILL COMMIT TO WORKING SENSITIVELY AND CREATIVELY ALONGSIDE YOU.

Through gently guided support, you will find ways to manage the struggles you may be facing, overcome trauma and loss, and to navigate the challenges of stress and anxiety.

  • I am an Integrative Therapist and I draw on different counselling methods within my practice to make sure that you receive the best possible support. My foundation is in the person centred approach in terms of relationships which is a non directive talking therapy, where you are encouraged to take the lead and I act as a guide and source of support to help you find your strengths.

In order to meet the differing needs of my clients I may employ CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) techniques, as these can help a you to manage your problems by looking at the way your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes can affect you feelings and actions. Drawing for the Gestalt model, we may look at you as a whole, with your unique experiences and reality and developing an awareness of your internal processes and body sensations in response to your needs.

At times , I may introduce creative therapies such as drawing and sand tray to help clients communicate inner experiences, thoughts and feelings that they find difficult to put into words, or cant find the words to explain

“The first step toward change is awareness, the second step is acceptance” - Carl Rogers

I know how important it is to feel comfortable with your counsellor in order to have the best experience. That’s why I always offer a free consultation in order to meet me, and get a feel for what the sessions might be like.

There is no obligation or commitment after the consultation but you may find it makes starting your counselling journey seem less daunting!
